Councilman MikeK Recalls Knievel Action Figure
I have been a customer for over 25 years and am a bit upset that we are not receiving official records for Kootenai County anymore, but instead for Spokane County. My interest is in Kootenai County and what is happening in our neighborhoods and at our courts. It seems that there is very little coverage of our area by your paper anymore, not what I am wanting to purchase daily. I have conferred with others and they are upset also. Please advise if this is a permanent change and if it is, all I have spoken with will be canceling their subscriptions too. Sad for all/Jacqui. Answer: In response to complaints about the disappearance of the Idaho public records in our newspaper, we're working on a solution. We believe we'll be able to publish them in our weekly zoned editions -- the Handle Extra and the Post Falls Voice.
The Real Rip-Off Report (87)
He's exactly what you'd expect of a self-titled consumer advocate, with one key difference. Thanks to the Internet, people actually have to pay attention to him. Before the rise of the Web, the powerful could write off gadflies such as Ed Magedson. But the Internet provides a bully pulpit that Magedson has harnessed with startling success and woe to the business owner who tries to ignore him. The Rip-Off Report has become a boon to the disgruntled, who've posted complaints taking on everything from poor business practices to deadbeat dads, ofen without a shred of proof. For Ed Magedson, it's been an even bigger gift. It's made him powerful, and it's made him money although certainly not a dot-com millionaire. Magedson won't remove posts. He's not interested in evidence that would offer vindication.
Clinton treats Florida like a real primary even though no delegates ...
DAVIE, Fla.: Hillary Rodham Clinton won the Florida Democratic primary Tuesday night, an event that drew no campaigning by any of her presidential rivals and awarded no delegates to the winner. But Clinton promptly declared it a welcome victory. The New York senator, fresh off her lopsided loss to Barack Obama in last weekend's South Carolina primary, arranged a rally in the state as the polls were closing, an evident attempt to gain campaign momentum. She and Obama collide next week in a coast-to-coast competition for delegates across 22 states. "I am convinced that with this resounding vote, with the millions of Americans who will vote next Tuesday, we will send a clear message that America is back and we will take charge of our destiny once again," she said to a boisterous crowd.

Inside the unit where babies cling on to life
Last month The Observer gained unprecedented access to one of the most influential and pioneering neonatal intensive care wards in Britain. Our investigation coincides with the first parliamentary battle over abortion laws for almost 20 years and the first nationwide survey of maternity services by the government's own health standards watchdog, in which mothers and babies were found to be treated poorly in overstretched NHS maternity wards. It is an issue this newspaper was among the first to bring to public attention almost three years ago through our Better Birth Campaign. Sited in the middle of Hackney in east London, one of the most deprived and multicultural areas in the country, and a referral centre for neighbouring hospitals, the neonatal unit at Homerton University Hospital is one of the busiest and most highly regarded in Britain.
